The UTNP (Ulju Trail Nine Peaks) is widely recognized as the most demanding trail running race in South Korea.

Featuring a formidable 125-kilometer route with a staggering 9,000 meters of cumulative altitude gain.

Since 2023, its prestige has been further elevated as a TORX® eXperience premier race. For the 2026 edition, taking place from October 30 to November 1, UTNP offers 50 PAX for the 9 Peaks finishers to enter the legendary TOR330 - Tor des Géants® 2027.

Building on its growing international reputation, UTNP reached a historic milestone by successfully hosting the inaugural Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships (APTRC) in 2024. This landmark event drew the top trail runners from across Asia and the Pacific. The championship showcased world-class performances on the rugged slopes of Ulju, firmly establishing the race as a pivotal destination on the global trail running map.

Ulju is a land where the spirit of "Challenge and Achievement" has flowed from ancient times to the modern era. The region is home to the world’s oldest traces of whaling, with prehistoric rock carvings throughout the valleys depicting mankind’s earliest hunts in the mountains and seas. This legacy of perseverance continues today; Ulju has evolved into a global industrial powerhouse—home to world-class shipyards and chemical complexes—while simultaneously emerging as the premier destination for mountain sports and the greatest trail challenges in Korea.

The race unfolds during the peak of autumn, the region's most breathtaking season. Runners are immersed in a landscape of vibrant autumn leaves and shimmering silver grass. The technical course offers a true wilderness experience with minimal road sections, promising unforgettable sunrises and sunsets on the trail. Beyond the run, the race is a cultural feast; each Check Point (CP) presents specially curated regional foods, offering participants a authentic taste of the local culture and essential nutrition.
