Trail Cat The Race, 300 miles, 3 countries, Andorra, France and Catalonia from north to south

Trail Cat The Race will return in 2026 with an exceptionally demanding challenge. The fifth edition of this ultratrail will feature a 300-mile (over 460 km) course with more than 31,000 meters of positive elevation gain, linking Andorra, France, and Catalonia from north to south, all the way to the heart of Tarragona. It will become the longest non-stop mountain race in Spain.

This route aims to be much more than a competition: it is an exploration of the territory and of the limits of human endurance.

The 60 available race entries sold out during the pre-registration period, confirming Trail Cat as one of the most sought-after and respected events in the ultramarathon scene on the Iberian Peninsula. The organization has created a waiting list via email and social media to manage any potential openings.

Secret route and navigation without markings

The race will start in central Andorra on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 12:00, with the finish in Tarragona scheduled for Saturday, October 17 at 20:00.

The course will not be revealed until one week before the start, when participants will receive the GPS track. There will be no course markings on the ground, reinforcing the Trail Cat’s emphasis on self-sufficiency and navigation skills.

The route will cross mountains, ridgelines, and valleys forming the country’s geographic backbone, passing through five natural parks and connecting sections of historic hiking trails—raw, untouched terrain.

Runners will face 15,000 meters of positive elevation gain and 16,000 meters of descent, with cut-off times at kilometer 90 (24 hours), kilometer 330 (120 hours), and at the finish (152 hours), requiring an average pace of 3 km/h.

The organization will also offer participants an optional logistics service for travel to Andorra and vehicle management at the finish city.

Connection with Tor des Géants

Trail Cat will be integrated into the TORX eXperience European program, offering 15 slots in the draw for the Tor des Géants. This strengthens the link between the event and the most demanding ultratrails in Europe.

Registration and new distances

Final registrations will open in the first week of December, with priority given to those who pre-registered. Any additional spots that become available will be assigned via the waiting list.

The organization will also announce two shorter race distances in the coming weeks, designed for runners who want to experience the spirit of Trail Cat in more accessible formats.
