Trail Cat 200

Timing

There are no traditional chipped bibs or timing mats. Instead, the organization provides a GPS device to geolocate participants, verify the completion of the route, and ensure passage through virtual checkpoints.

The Route

The route tracks remain secret until 15 days before the race to enhance the sense of adventure. This ensures participants cannot practice the route in advance. Remember, this is about embracing the unknown!

Distances

Trailcat200 offers longer-than-usual distances, ranging from 100 to 200 miles. To encourage participation, shorter options of 25 and 50 miles are also available—ideal for newcomers to this format of racing.

Base Camps

Fully equipped base camps are strategically located along the course. Each base provides hot food, showers, beds, and access to your life bag, where you can store essential materials for the race.

The number of base camps varies depending on your chosen distance:

  • 1 base camp for shorter distances
  • 2 or 3 base camps for longer distances

These camps are crucial for managing rest and recharging your energy.

Safety

Every participant is provided with a GPS tracker for safety. A dedicated control team will monitor your progress throughout the race, ensuring you are safe and on track. In case of doubts or emergencies, you can contact the PCO (Organitztion control point) , or they can reach out to check on you at any time.

Team Format

While the race can be completed individually, most participants choose to race in teams. This format is highly recommended, as it adds a social element to the adventure. Sharing challenges, victories, and unforgettable memories with teammates makes the experience even more rewarding.

Cut-Off Times

Cut-off times are more generous than in traditional races, allowing participants to fully enjoy the surroundings without unnecessary stress. They are designed to give you ample time to rest and eat at the base camps. On average, the cut-off pace is set at 3.5 km/h.
